Polestars run Pole dancing lessons for fun and fitness for women of all ages, shapes, sizes and levels of ability.
‘It’s the ultimate girlie activity, with lots of laughing, cheering and constant encouragement. It is as much a social event as an exercise class.’ – The Observer (Oct ’03).
Polestars are Ireland's leading Pole Dancing School with classes in Dublin, Carlow, Cork, Limerick and Mullingar. We are looking to expand due to the unprecedented attention we’ve had from the public and the press. We are currently looking for venues and teachers all around Ireland.
We offer lessons in the week and hen / birthday parties at weekends. We use bars and clubs for the lessons as they tend to create a relaxed atmosphere. We also encourage social interaction within the class, so much so that many girls establish firm friends beyond the classes.
With the likes of Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie and Danni Minogue all taking to the pole the time is ripe to bring Polestars to a bar near you!
‘It’s great fun trying and as we practised the moves I can see why so many women are keen to have a go at Pole Dancing… …I think women like it because it is fun, gets them fit and because they think it is glamorous, this is about saying to women you can have the and the fitness without the guys perving over you’ Edinburgh Evening News (Aug ’04)
We are looking for venues that are female friendly, convenient to get to and are in safe, well-lit areas as the classes are until 9:30pm. We ideally would like a bar, pub or club with a reasonably large private function room away from prying eyes as some of our customers can be very shy! We run six-week courses on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday evenings. We are interested in venues which can offer some/any/all of these days from 7:30pm – 9:30pm. We offer the hen nights on Saturday afternoons and would like to have the possibility of using the venue any time between 1pm - 3pm and/or 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
Our requirements
Booking: We need to be able to book your venue in six-week blocks during the week and for one off events in the afternoon at the weekend. We need to be able to guarantee the bookings once we have made them.
Storage: We need to be able to store a large holdall (1.5m x 0.5 m) and two poles somewhere in your venue when we are not holding the classes. The poles we use are removable, and will be taken down at the end of every session.
Fittings: We need to be able to put 3 to 4 small fittings in the ceiling of your venue. These are very unobtrusive [a little smaller than a compact disk] and will not cause any structural damage. We will sign a contract with you to return the ceiling to its original state if the fittings cause any cosmetic damage.
Cleanliness: We need the floor of the function room to be clean. We are happy to give it a quick sweep before the class but if the floor is sticky or has broken glass etc on it we cannot operate a class safely.
Insurance: Polestars have full public and employers liability. Our teachers are qualified instructors. This covers most eventualities. However you could be held responsible if any problems are caused by the physical state of your venue. Our teachers conduct health and safety checks on venues to try and ensure that none of these problems occur.

If Polestars looks like the sort of enterprise you would like to get involved with and your venue meets most if not all of our requirements then please do get in touch.
